The Highland Lakes SPCA operates
in the Highland Lakes area of
central Texas,
serving Burnet,
Llano, Blanco, and Travis counties
.
We are near the towns of Marble
Falls,
Horseshoe Bay, Spicewood,
Kingsland and Burnet.  We are a
501 c (3)
non-profit group
composed entirely of volunteers
and funded by donations and fund
raisers. We
receive no financial
assistance from any local or
national governmental agencies.
Highland Lakes SPCA
We are a no kill organization. This means that we DO NOT kill any of the
animals in our care unless it is determined that euthanization is the only
humane course of treatment for an ailing animal. We work to take animals
out of the city facilities in Marble Falls, Granite Shoals and Burnet, and
also sometimes accept animals from people who have found abandoned and
unwanted pets. We work with the local law enforcement agencies on neglect
and abuse cases and help place those animals where and when appropriate.

We actively speak with individuals about getting their animals spayed and
neutered, since we believe that spaying and neutering is the only way to
control pet overpopulation. We recommend contacting any of our local
veterinarians to spay or neuter your pet and to continue vaccination
schedules and long-term health care regimens for your pets. Please call us
if you are new to the area and would like a recommendation. We can also
put you in touch with the low cost spay/neuter clinics that come to our area.
