DONATION BOXES
Many local businesses in Marble Falls, Burnet, Llano, Kingsland, Spicewood, and
Horseshoe Bay graciously display our donation boxes on their counters for people to
deposit their spare change. We collect these boxes every month and are thrilled to say that
the collections can cover several spays or neuters each month. If your business would like
to support the Highland Lakes SPCA by putting out a donation box, contact us at
830-596-2717 and we would be happy to set you up. This is a very easy way to help the
lost, abandoned and unwanted pets in the Highland Lakes.
EMPLOYEE/EMPLOYER MATCHING FUNDS DONATIONS
We had a really neat thing happen just before Christmas, we got a
call from the Haley/Nelson Construction Company in Marble Falls.
Some of their employees have selected us as their charity of choice,
and the company matches their charitable contributions dollar for
dollar. They do this quarterly and we just received our first check.
We would like to thank the employees and Haley Nelson
Construction for their generosity. If you or your company would like
to learn how to set up a program like this, call Highland Lakes SPCA
at 830-596-2717 for more information. (See our "News" section for
pictures)
YOU DID IT!!!!!
Highland Lakes SPCA Matching Funds 2009 a Success
Highland Lakes SPCA would like to thank our generous community for helping us meet
and exceed the $5000 matching funds challenge issued by Roger and Geneva Dalton of
Horseshoe Bay.
The first day the Highlander News printed the article a call came in from a fellow saying
he had read the article and if the Daltons’ could be so generous he thought he could
match the entire amount. True to his word, we were able to meet the challenge. But the
generosity of our community’s animal lovers did not stop there. By the end of the drive
on December 31, 2009 we had received donations in the amount of $12,840. With the
$5000, the grand total is 17,840. When the Daltons heard the final tally they added
another $160 because as Geneva put it, “We like round numbers.”
Considerable funding is necessary to face the formidable challenges involved in
rescuing and caring for lost, abandoned or stray animals. The funds from these
matching donations have been specifically designated for the monthly operational
expenses of our no-kill shelter. Thanks to you and others like you in the community, we
will be able to meet the continuing challenge of providing for the care of these
unfortunate creatures until permanent, loving homes can be found for them.
HLSPCA is a 501 © (3) non-profit group which relies solely on the generosity of the
community for monetary and volunteer support. We receive no financial assistance from
the national SPCA organization, contract services, or local government funding. Thanks
to your tax deductible contributions we can continue providing the high quality of care
that these animals desperately need and deserve. If you would like to make a
contribution on behalf of these animals, please make your donation payable to Highland
Lakes SPCA and mail to P.O. Box 1275 Marble Falls, TX 78654 or call 830-596-2717 for
more information.
